About the local event organizer:

Kimberly Norman-Prater

Kimberly Norman-Prater

Kimberly Norman-Prater is the co-owner of Gary’s Floral Gallery in Abilene, Tx. She joined the floral world in 2005 when Gary, her father opened his own shop after managing two other shops for over 40 years. Kimberly previously spent 8 years teaching Pre-K and running the after-school program at Just Kids Preschool, also in Abilene. She comes from a strong military family with 2 Army grandfathers, (one of which was a POW for more than a year) and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She and her family have always had a very deep respect for the armed services and she recently joined the Military Affairs Council through the Abilene Chamber of Commerce where she is also heavily involved. After learning from a floral friend of the Memorial Day Flowers organization, she knew Abilene needed to jump on board with their own Veteran cemetery. To her, this is just a drop in the ocean to honor those who have sacrificed so much for us. Kimberly is married to James Prater and has two beautiful daughters, Kaitlyn and Mariyah.
